sketchupcompetition

As you all know that SketchUp ur Space has organized a SketchUp competition along with Chaos Group/V-Ray. Though the competition has come to an end I want to share some tit bits about the competition. Sketchup ur Space coordinates this competition on the occasion of its first anniversary. The competition was opened on 2nd August 2010. Though the last date of entry was 31st August seeing the overwhelming response we extended it till 10th September. We got many entries from all over the world. There are total 114 entries we got for the competition. The entries are judged by Mr Nomer Adona, the art teacher at Saigon South International School and writer of several SketchUp tutorials and James Hannigan, the Co-Founder/Online Editor and Social Media Manager of SketchUpArtists, an online treasure house of SketchUp tutorial and style.

This competition would not be possible without the kind help of Chaos Group/V-Ray. Chaos group is the developer of the V Ray, one of the best rendering engines for SketchUp. Chaos group established a CG production Studio for 3D design in the year 1997. And in 2001 they introduced V-Ray render engine. The then V-ray has become the obvious choice for most of the 3D artists. V-Ray has an excellent rendering engine for SketchUp also apart from Maya and Max. It has great capability to deliver the high quality photorealistic images of the SketchUp models. We are very glad to get support from them. Sketchup ur Space wants to thanks to Maria Padalski, Maya Petrova and Angelina Penkova for supporting us.

We got entries from all over the world like USA, UK, Indonesia, Philippines, India and many other countries. There are many great quality images we got from the participants which will make the judges utterly confused. We have uploaded all the images in Google Picasa Album but now it is restricted to few people only. We will open the album to the reader of our magazine after the result will be declared. Till then just keep your finger crossed and lets hope that may the best entry will win the prize.
