Rendezvous with Andrew Telker,The SketchUp Lover
|
Hello Andrew! Welcome to the space of SketchUp! Please introduce yourself. Please tell us something about your academic background. How did you find SketchUp? SketchUp provided the ease of drafting, with the copy/paste function of the computer, and allowed volumed and geometry to be conceptualized. Initially, I intended to use the program to create perspective vantages to use as underlay, and to draw on top with a roll of trace paper, and "enhance" the final outcome. However, I found that I could present multiple perspectives in SketchUp quicker than I could hand-render or Sketch a view, so, I started using SketchUp on 100% of ALL of my projects. The accuracy in SketchUp is fantastic, and once a Project is created, Architectural Plan & Elevation views can be exported as Jpeg Images or DWG CAD files for any project. SketchUp is a fantastic program! 4. You are a man of many folds like you was a carpenter; you are now an architecture, LEED Accredited Professional and a SketchUp artist. How do you manage all of avatars ? Architecture was always a dream I had to visualize a cleaner, GREENER, community, and I set my goal to create a "Sustainable Community". The First Step was to get a Professional Degree in Architecture. The next Step was to learn about passive design principles, waste & waste recovery, Water & Water Purification, Solar & Wind, and then formalize my GREEN passions with an LEED Accreditation. As I progress with Sustainable Design solutions for affordable housing and GREEN Design, I use SketchUp as my primary Conceptualization Tool. I can "draft" an ideas very quickly, and share as images with my clients and colleagues. The integrated tools that SketchUp offers, as a branch of Google is limitless. When Google bought SketchUp, I knew it was destined to be a PowerHouse 3D Visualization Industry Leader. I can share my projects through the Google WareHouse. I can use Google Maps or Google Earth and integrate my latest project on the Actual Site, complete with contours. It is amazing technology. I find Google SketchUp an amazing tool for Architects. 5. You are a lover of nature. How can be SketchUp implemented in green engineering? I have used SketchUp on client projects for Framing Diagrams, Material Count, Material Construction Details & Visualization. SketchUp has saved countless mistakes in the field, by figuring it out ahead of time in 3D. Diverting waste from Landfills is smart design for the budget, and the Ecosystem. Further, I would assert that SketchUp is BIM: Build Information Mapping. SketchUp 3D Modeled Dynamic Components are introducing parametric modeling and tagged data to SketchUp. Much information can be built into a model, and with endless PlugIns, there is an software application that can perform many Architectural tasks related to Green Technology. Most Noted is software applications for Energy Conceptual & Energy Compliance Modeling for the USGBC (United States Green Building Counsel) LEED program. There are a ton of programs that can be used to monitor or gauge the effectiveness of GREEN Design strategies, in regard to Carbon, Emissions, Energy Consumption, and Thermal Heat Loads. What is your aim to start Telker Design? 10. How do you utilize SketchUp in Telker Design? Design Concepts 11. Lover of nature, testing water samples, desigining, 3D, architecture – among all these avatars what do you enjoy most. I couldn't imagine thinking about the same thing everyday. Our minds are most alive and fruitful as they grow and expand. 12. Please tell us something about your opinion on SketchUp. 13. How do all of your selves mingle and cooperate with each other? 14. What is your inspiration of doing 3D modeling in SketchUp? Several SketchUpArtists have continued to inspire me to New levels, and remind me to challenge myself. Dale, Csaba, Eric, Ignacio, Fredo6, Scott, Solo, and several others, to many to mention here. The Great Architects challenge me to explore NEW geometry, and NEW and Exciting ways to communicate my ideas. Renzo Piano, William McDonough, Ken Yeang, Calatrava, Bozarth, and other cutting edge Architects. 15. Till date how did you see the evolution of SketchUp SketchUp made leaps up till version 6. Little has change from version 6 to version 8. It is Time for another Leap from SketchUp, in order to keep the 3D audience content. 16. How do you like to see SketchUp growing in future days? 17. Please give some advice to the budding SketchUp artists. 18. What is your advice to the team of SketchUp ur Space? Thanks Guys!
